below chart for starting race/occupation.
Starting gear is as listed for characters going through the funnel.
For
non-funnel characters awesome players can roll once on the table below, other players
can roll stats 4 times then roll 4 times on the above chart and take whichever
combination of results is their favorite.
Starting gear can be taken straight from the 3rd or 4th
edition Talislanta book for non funnel characters (because those are the hard copies I have on hand).

where the class is listed as racial I will be making a custom class for at some
point. In the meantime if anyone of my
players rolls these than they can either help me make something up on the spot
to playtest or reroll.
The entries
with the * beside them are treated like humans for class choices but they each
have a special ability or two:
Dhuna
females can capture any man’s heart with just a kiss. Treat this as a Charm Person spell result of
18-19. A Dhuna female may have a number
of men under her power equal to her personality modifier (minimum of one).
Mirin are
immune to cold and take no damage from cold based attacks. They can also bond with a mate for life and
can instinctively tell when their mate is in danger.
Phantasians
can Detect Magic by sight, they must merely concentrate to use this ability (no
other actions allowed that round). Treat
this as a result of 20 on the Detect Magic spell, but the range is only 5 feet.
Sunra can
breathe underwater for up to 24 hours and can remain out of water indefinitely
with no ill effects.
Yiteks have infravision
and can see in the dark up to 60’.
